(5.102)], depending on the particle size parameter kma. (d) Scattering amplitudes from spheres with various size parameters kma illuminated by a plane wave propagating along the z-axis and polarised along the x-axis. For small particles, the scattering is symmetric around the particle, whereas as the size parameter increases, the scattering becomes more directed towards the direction of propagation. All the scattering amplitudes are normalised to the forward scattering amplitude.
